AntiqueMAYFLOWER SHIP MODEL
This 19th Century antique wooden model of the
Mayflower
ship is extremely old,
fragile and
shows its' age
by the current condition.
The plaque on the stand states "Mayflower".
The wood is dark from age;
the cloth sails are dusty & blackened by the effects of time.
The original roping is brittle and fragile.
Despite being so old and in the current condition this ship looks amazing!
It might resemble a ghost ship after a storm, all torn up and not quite real.
Even without restoration, this ship is an amazingly attractive piece. It is beautiful, historic and erie all at the same time.
Dust of ages past sit on the ship. Everything about this ship speaks about time.
It has its' 2 original metal anchors; there are random small parts which have detached.
Very fragile but beautiful once restored no doubt.
Approximate length: 24 inches
Approximate height: 23 inches
Approximate width (not counting cross masts) 6 inches
This ship model was made by my grandfather who was born in Connecticut in 1887 and lived in New England his entire life.
I am thinning out my family "treasures" as I get older myself.
Shipping will be provided via U.S.P.S. Priority Mail. Large box, with extensive padding to keep the ship in place. Be mindful, shipping of large objects is calculated with both weight and dimensions ( to compensate the shipper, USPS, for voluminous yet light packages). Feel free to ask for more pictures.
