The all new APR app and wireless communication interface turns an Apple iPhone or iPad into a remote control console and data logger. Owners of APR performance tuning software installed in MKV and later 2.0T VW cars now have a fast and convenient way to switch between stock and performance ECU software programs, read and erase trouble codes, and view critical engine operating parameters.
The system is simple and intuitive: download and install the app, then plug the wireless transmitter into the OBD data link connector (DLC) beneath the dash. Select the APR transmitter signal from the available signals list, and connect the device to the transmitter.
The remote transmitter broadcasts serial data from the diagnostic port to the phone or tablet, and the app displays the data on screen with intuitive navigation among different modes and functions. Brightly colored graphs display multiple, user-selected parameters, overlaid for comparison on a single screen, or separated onto individual screens.
The app supports the APR-patented EMCS (Enhanced Modular Chipping System) interface, a unique system that allows users to cycle through installed software programs from the driver seat. Drivers can switch among resident programs while driving, without cycling the ignition key. The driver can select the default Original Manufacturer program, switch to any installed APR upgrade, or select a valet programming map that limits performance.
The smaller screens on iPhone and Touch display two graphs at once, with each graph able to display multiple parameters simultaneously. The large iPad screen will accommodate four graphs at once. Screens can be zoomed and panned, stored to memory, or emailed.
Perform the following functions from the app:
Switch between factory installed and performance powertrain programming with a tap on the screen, on-the-fly.
Read and erase diagnostic trouble codes, and list probable causes.
Display data parameters. Choose between the default OBD generic parameter list or APR preset, or select one or more of the parameters and save the selections in a custom display group that can be recalled at any time.
Log live data and graph it on screen as it arrives, or save it to a file for future reference. Displays and logs

View VIN and ECU serial number
Select valet mode.
Adjust programming for different octane fuels.
Turn the resident anti-theft program on or off.
Access APR tech support (internet access required).
Requirements:
iOS 6 or 7, 3G iPhone or better, iPod Touch 3 or better, and iPad 2 or better. Android support is currently in development.
APR Mobile app, available in the Apple Store.
Vehicles that were flashed 11/2013 or earlier will require an upgraded reflash to mobile supported software. ECS Tuning provides a reflash service for existing APR customers at nominal labor fee.
