Silver War Medal
to William Barry COOK for service with 59th Canadian Infantry Battalion who was born in Mhow, India and attested for service
in Smiths Falls, Ont.
on June 24th 1915 at 43 years of age.
A very scarce medal to 59th Battalion as the Battalion was absorbed into the 39th Infantry Battalion upon arriving in England and only those soldiers who reached England but were
not absorbed into the
39th Infantry Battalion
and
sent to the front retained the original 59-Can. Inf. on the medal.
Impressed along edge: 454702 A. CPL. W.B. COOK 59-CAN. INF.
Included with a medal is one collar badge to 59th.
With correct WW1 ribbon

a copy of his service file (19 pages .00 value) included.
