WW1 CEFSilver War Medal
to James SMITH for service with 61st Canadian Infantry Battalion who was born in Glasgow, Scotland and attested for service
in Winnipeg Man.
on June 14th 1915 at 45 years of age and after serving for 12 months with 61st he attested again on Aug 12th 1919.
A very scarce medal to 61st Battalion as the Battalion was absorbed into the 11th Reserve Battalion upon arriving in England and only those soldiers who reached England but were
not absorbed into the
11th Reserve
Battalion
and
sent to the front retained the original 61-Can. Inf. on the medal.
