to Alfred Edmund BOYCE for service with 23rd Canadian Infantry Battalion who was born in Plymouth, England and attested for service
in Calgary AB

on May 7th 1915 at 38 years of age.
Impressed along edge: 435086 PTE. A.E. BOYCE 23 CAN. INF.
A very scarce medal to 23rd Battalion as 99%+ of the member were absorbed by the battalions fighting on the front and only those soldiers who reached England but were not sent to the front retained the original 23 Can. Inf. on the medal.
With correct WW1 ribbon.
Medal is in excellent condition,
a copy of his service file (36 pages)
included.
