to Alfred Leonard WOODHOUSE for service with 36th Canadian Infantry Battalion who was born in Hamilton, Ontario and attested for service
in
Hamilton, Ont
.
on May 17th 1915 at 27 years of age.
Impressed along edge: 406998 PTE. A.L. WOODHOUSE 36-CAN. INF.
A very scarce medal to 36th Battalion as the Battalion was absorbed into the 3rd Reserve Battalion and only those soldiers who reached England but were
not absorbed into the 3rd Reserve Battalion
and
sent to the front retained the original 36-Can. Inf. on the medal.
With correct WW1 ribbon
