WW1 CEFSilver War Medal
to David MARTIN for service with 53rd Canadian Infantry Battalion who was born in Larbert, Sterlingshire, Scotland and attested for service
in
Winnipeg Man.
on Oct. 4th 1915 at 37 years of age.
A very scarce medal to 53rd Battalion as the Battalion was absorbed into the 15th Reserve Battalion and only those soldiers who reached England but were
not absorbed into the
15th Reserve Battalion
and
sent to the front retained the original 53-Can. Inf. on the medal.
Impressed along edge: 441653 PTE. D. MARTIN 53-CAN. INF.
With correct WW1 ribbon

a copy of his Attestation paper as found on archives.ca/cef site included.
