WW1 CEF Silver War Medal  to Robert McCutchen for service with 196th Canadian Infantry Battalion "Western Universities C.E.F. Battalion",
who was born in Magoble, Scotland, lived in Edmonton AB.
and
attested for service on April 05th 1916 in
Edmonton AB.
at 30 years of age.
A very scarce medal to
this Battalion as it was absorbed into 19th Reserve Battalion, only those soldiers who reached England but were not absorbed
in to
the
19th
Reserve
Battalion
and sent to the front retained the original 196-Can. Inf. on the medal.
Impressed along edge: 911403 PTE. R. MC CUTCHON 196-CAN. INF. With correct WW1 ribbon
