WW1 CEF Silver War Medal  to Samuel Booth HODGSON for service with 242nd Canadian Infantry Battalion,
who was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, England, lived in Vancouver B.C.
and
attested for service on Aug. 22nd 1916
and again on Sept. 8th 1916
in
Vancouver B.C.
at 42 years of age.
A very scarce medal to
this Battalion as it was absorbed into Canadian Forestry Corps, only those soldiers who reached England but were not absorbed
in to
the
Canadian Forestry Corps
and sent to the front retained the original 242-Can. Inf. on the medal.
