WW1 CEF Silver War Medal  to William WOODS for service with 138th Canadian Infantry Battalion,
who was born in Edmonton, Alberta
and
attested for service in
Edmonton AB
. on Jan 18th 191
6
at 39 years of age.
A very scarce medal to
this Battalion as it was broken up and absorbed into the 47th, 50th 128th, 137th and 175th Infantry Battalions, only those soldiers who reached England but were not absorbed
in to
these
Battalion
s and sent to the front retained the original 138-Can. Inf. on the medal.
Impressed along edge: 811788 PTE. W. WOODS 138-CAN. INF. With correct WW1 ribbon
