to George Thomas HEBDEN for service with 71st Canadian Infantry Battalion who was born in Caledon East
. Ont. and attested for service
in Guelph Ont.
on Sept. 15th 1915 at 41 years of age.
A very scarce medal to 71st Battalion as the Battalion was absorbed into the
44th, 51st, 54th and 74th
Battalions upon arriving in England and only those soldiers who reached England but were
not absorbed into the fighting
Battalions
and
sent to the front retained the original 71-Can. Inf. on the medal.
Impressed along edge: 126526 SJT. G.T. HEBDEN 71-CAN. INF.
With correct WW1 ribbon
