Diamond Sutra - extra large copy - painted by hand using traditional colors

Description

The Diamond Sutra is a treasured 9th century copy of the world's first dated printed book.  Chinese artist Zhou Zhen (who specializes in traditional Chinese paintings and hand-carved wood-boards) spent two months making a wood-board copy of the "front page" of this famous scroll.  And while the wood-board itself is very valuable and not for sale, he has made rubbings on traditional Chinese rice paper - in the original size of about 8x12) and offers them for sale - "unmounted" as well as mounted by hand using traditional Chinese silk papers.  For this version, he sketched a much larger copy of the Diamond Sutra picture (approximately 3 feet tall by 5 feet wide) - and carefully painted it using traditional Chinese colors, some made by hand. It is mounted on traditional Chinese silk. A rare and very special traditional Chinese painting!
