Description

This is an original pre-prohibition August Schell Brewing Co. Deer Brand Beer tin tray. Nice vivid colors.
Exact age is unknown.
The tray shows the Deer Brand Beer logo in the center with a large stag in front of an outdoor landscape. The printing at the top shows the August Schell “SA” round logo” and across the bottom is printed, “Brewed And Bottled By August Schell Brewing Co. New Ulm, Minn; The Novelty Adv Co., Coshocton, O".
The piece shows some signs of use indicative of its early age, but is in overall very good condition. The most visible flaw in the printed area is a 1/8" diameter round spot at about the 10 o'clock position. There are a few light scratches in the printing as shown in the photos and oher paint chips/etc. are shown in the photos. The metal is heavy, and there are no dents. Measures 14” diameter x 1-1/4" height.
