Description
Vintage 32-inch Asian Bamboo Scroll has beautiful artwork featuring a landscape from mountains to valley retreat. Lovely bamboo grows everywhere. Signed on the top right corner. It is 12.5 inches wide. Also has the rust-colored stain marks (like makers marks) on the back that is typical of bamboo scrolls. Unfortunately for this scroll, part of that stain bled through on the bottom of the scroll making it look like water stains. It does not affect the artwork. You can see this in the photos. About 7 places along the edges of the scroll there are broken slats. These can also be viewed in the photos. Three of these broken shards do extend into the art. Probably created in the late 1950s or 1960s but I have no way of knowing for sure but it is made of actual bamboo strips like that period. Threaded together with gold metallic thread at the edges. Wood dowels at top and bottom with ribbon hanger.
