Vintage REAL SPORT Jodhpurs Brown 1920-30’s Riding Breeches Pants NRA Equestrian
Vintage Jodhpurs “Real Sport” “The house of Breeches” Based on the original owners life, and that she started raising a family in the mid 1930’s. We are guessing that these were probably purchased new sometime during the 1920’s or early 1930’s.
There is a sewn in tag from the manufacturer that states "NRA Member-We Do Our Part / Manufactured Under Men's Clothing Code Authority / ACB 114887" The button closure is on the left side of the pants (not the front) Considering the age of these these jodhpurs are in remarkably good condition. Almost 100 years old! There are what looks like a few small bleach stains and other light stains. It is also missing the button on left hand pocket, although there are matching buttons on the inside of bottom, inside hem (for the strap that runs under the boot) that could be used as a replacement. The leather on the inside (exterior) of the thighs is in great shape though it has come unstitched in a couple of spots. The leather shows no cracking and is fairly flexible, but I would recommend treating it with a good quality neatsfoot oil to make it more supple.
