Wooden Ship Model Made In Japan

Description

Up for auction is a small ship model made from Bamboo. I received this item from someone when I was young probably around five years old. I was told that this ship was not a toy and as a result was not allowed to play with it and it sat on a shelf for decades. It was packed away with all my stuff when I moved out and was recently discovered. Since I have no where to put this item I decided to sell it. The ship appears to be flying the French flag, but I was told when I was a child that it was the Santa Maria of Christopher Columbus fame? The ship is in decent condition for its age with the exception of the front piece which was damages in storage and will have to be glues by the new owner. The it is stamped Made in Japan on the bottom. I received this gift around 1970. Please use the photos to judge the condition of this as is auction.
