N.J. man, 67, fatally struck by SUV while crossing street

A 67-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday afternoon by an SUV in Hamilton Township in Mercer County, according to police.
The crash occurred about 4 p.m. when a man walking across South Olden Avenue from north to south was hit by the vehicle driven by a 57-year-old township man, police said.
The pedestrian, Namtho Trinh, also of Hamilton, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
No charges were filed, and police said sun glare facing westbound traffic at the time of the collision may have reduced the driver’s visibility. Speed is not believed to have been a factor, police said.
The Hamilton Township Fire Division and Hamilton Fire/Police volunteers assisted at the scene, and the roadway was temporarily closed during the investigation.
